Vintage 20" Tall Crucifix W/Silver Color Hanging Christ
This is a wonderful large size crucifix.
There are no markings for the maker or year, so it is tough to date.
The wood of the cross is darker, so maybe walnut. It stands 20" tall, and is 10" across. The wood is .625 thick with a beveled edge all the way around the front edge. The likeness of Christ is made of metal and is a silver color. He
stands 8.75" tall. The nail in the pedestal is a little loose, but that won't matter once hung because the two nails in his hands are firm. and hold firmly in place. The only scrapes that I see are on his knee and leg.
About .625" in from the end of each end of the wood on the front side is a decorated piece of metal that is inlaid into the wood hat adds a little decoration to the piece.
The INRI sign at the top is held in place with a single nail at the top. It can swing from left to right. Toward the bottom of the tall piece of wood on the crucifix, there are a couple of water stains. You might be able to remove them with some wood polish, or some other home remedy.
If you are a collector, make sure you take a look. Perhaps you are looking for a large size crucifix for a prominent place in your home, or for a religious setting, make sure you take a look at this one.
