Vintage Doreen Ryan Native American Style Faux Turquoise Belt MR DELIZZA COLLECTION
Large Doreen Ryan belt done with a Native American style buckle. The buckle measures 3.4 x 3 inches. The black leather belt measures 40 inches long. I appears you just put a slice in the leather to hook the clasp at whatever size you need for your waist. A little aging to the leather but over all very nice. Signed DR for Doreen Ryan.
After Mr DeLizza closed his factory he wanted to use his expertise to work for other designers. So he started working with Doreen Ryan. He says in his book on page 156-157. "For my next venture I adopted another manufacturer and put some of my expertise to work for her, and work it did. She was a wonderful young lady, Doreen Ryan. With my help she went from being a small-time maker to being a major supplier of belts and jewelry to the industry. I was very happy for her, and for a couple of years it went very well, but eventually it was too much for her."
This piece is one that was designed and manufactured by her company and was probably given to Mr DeLizza as examples of the designs they worked on together.
All of Mr DeLizza's jewelry is being documented both in a blog and in an online format that can be printed out in book format. I also have thank you cards hand made by him available for a certain $$ purchased.
