Set Of 2 Ballantine XXX Beer Ale Man XXX Pewter Mugs from the early 1960s. No wear, never used, with label card insert.
The Ballantine Ale Man was a popular ad campaign by Ballantine from the late 1950's into the 1960's.
4.5 tall by 3 ½” wide.
These mugs were produced for Falstaff/Ballantine by the Wilton Company and are made of Armetale alloy.
Armetale is not a lead based pewter and is FDA approved.
It is designed to be chilled or filled with ice briefly and then emptied, allowing any poured beer or beverage to be kept cold.
