General Description:
The Pelco DX8016-500 is a high performance DVR, loaded with the features necessary to effectively manage multiple cameras in large sized commercial security enterprises such as banks, retail stores, government facilities, cruise ships and numerous other applications.
Built to Pelco's rigid specifications, this DVR perfectly exemplifies Pelco's commitment to providing outstanding security products, a trend that has made them a leader in the CCTV industry.
Some of the key advantages this DVR has over a DX7100 series DVR is a higher frame rate (480 vs. 30 IPS), the ability to daisy chain five DVRs together, support for ATM/POS devices and audio capabilities via an optional PCI board.
Features:
Step Up Features from DX7100 Series DVRs
Super Fast Recording Speeds:
Video is recorded at speeds up to 480 IPS across all 16 channels, and at a resolution of up to 720 x 480. Faster recording speeds eliminate jerky video movements, resulting in properly defined images as well as less eye fatigue for an operator who is viewing for long hours.
Support for Third Party Domes Via Optional Keyboard
PTZ dome cameras from different manufacturers can be controlled alongside Pelco coaxitron domes using the optional KBD300A joystick controller. This allows facilities containing older PTZ domes from different manufacturers to upgrade their DVR to this feature rich model without having to replace their existing cameras.
Ability to Daisy Chain 5 DVRs
Five DX8000 DVRs can be connected together in a server-to-server configuration, resulting in up to 100 simultaneous client-to-server connections. An operator can then view up to 36 cameras on a single screen. This potential is even more fully realized when used with a super large monitor such as Pelco's 700 series of DLP monitors. The KBD300A will also come in handy here, giving an operator fingertip control for selecting cameras and camera view sizes.
Direct Connection to ATM/POS Devices
When connected to an ATM/POS device, this DVR will record electronic transactions such as credit card swipes along with video. This is an extremely important feature for banks, retail stores, ATM kiosks, casinos and numerous other applications requiring the ability to search for text as well as video. It can also be used to trigger recording at the same instant as the occurrence of an out of ordinary cash register activity such as a void or missed scan. This is useful in controlling employee sweet-hearting and similar actions, assuring that cash register receipts and actual register contents add up at the end of the day.
Optional Audio Recording
By installing Pelco's optional DX8000-AUD PCI expansion card, audio from all camera inputs can be recorded along with their video. Audio along with video recording greatly enhances security performance by giving an operator a fuller sense of an occurrence. It is also a particularly useful feature for retail stores, factories and similar applications requiring an operator to hear and speak with a person at the camera location.
Hidden Camera Function
Any camera or group of cameras can be selected to record in the background without actually appearing on the monitor. This prevents a potential perpetrator from figuring out camera locations by studying cameras and their orientation on the multi-image monitor.
Shared Features
Full Duplex Operation
Thanks to its built-in multiplexer, video from all 16 cameras can be viewed, recorded and played back by both local and remote users simultaneously with no degradation in image quality or performance.
Built-In CD Burner
A built-in CD burner is one of the most important things to have in a DVR. It provides an easy method for transferring short term event footage to an optical disc for archiving purposes or for quick viewing on a PC.
SVGA Output
An SVGA (15-pin VGA) output allows video to be displayed in super high resolution on a computer screen or projected on a wall using an SVGA video projector.
Adjustable Frame Rates and Resolution
Each video input can be individually adjusted for frame rates and resolution. This allows a user for example to set a camera that is being recorded, at its highest resolution while using a lower frame rate for cameras in display mode or vice versa, depending on an application.
Motion Detection
A motion detection function, fully configurable for area and sensitivity, can be assigned to each camera input. Motion detection not only alerts an operator to suspicious activities, but when used to trigger recording, makes it a lot easier to locate event footage.
Alarm I/O Ports
A number of external sensors can attached to trigger alarms or to activate devices following an alarm occurrence.
Rack Mount Ready
Rack ears not included - installs in a standard 19" EIA rack (4 RU high)
