This is a gorgeous limited collectible of Lady Diana, the mother of future King of England, William. She wears the beaded dress she called her “Elvis Outfit”.
This is a replica, Commissioned by Diana, Princess of Wales, from London-based couturiere, Catherine Walker, in 1989. Diana ordered this dress for a state visit to Hong Kong scheduled for November 1989. She first wore it to the British Fashion Awards in London in October 1989
. The doll is so similar to the original beautiful princess: She has lovely painted blue eyes, delicate eyelashes and eyebrows, aquiline nose and two toned parted lips with pearl colored teeth individually painted. Her throat is swan like and curved. Cheeks show a slight blush. Her blond hair is well rooted into her head and smartly cut in the long banged style so well known in fashion magazines of the day. Her arms are flexed at elbow, long and delicate; fingernails are painted a soft pink. Legs are well formed and straight. The doll is porcelain and not articulated except for a fiberfill area from waist to upper thighs. Her metal stand has been placed in her back padding, and goes between her legs to the stand. She is wearing a pearl colored painted pair of low heels, and also comes with a delicate silver crown inlaid with faux pearls and rhinestones and a white silk rose. Crown and rose are still in boxes. She stands on a round wooden black doll stand.
