and put to use when life, in Britain, was more straight forward:  After a long day, stand with a pint or a quart at the local pub -- in this case, the Ellenthorpe Arms -- play darts and order the evening's special --  or take a seat in the lounge and just enjoy the brew.  It's easy to relive the 1800s armed with a heavy, pewter, measuring tankard with spout that bears numerous hallmarks. It's up to the owner to fill the tankard with a favorite ale.
