    Description

It's time to either start your own high profit landscape or hauling business, or put this truck to work on a nice farm.
No Reserve, so every bid is a commitment to buy.
    1973 Ford F350 Dump Truck.
Manual 3 Speed on the floor with the Granny gear.
390 V8  The top end was done some years ago, but hasn't had a lot of miles since.  Runs well, but may need some carburetor adjustment.
Inside bed dimensions are 7'5" long x 5'5" wide x 3' tall.  So right at 120 cubic feet, or 4.46 cubic yards to the top of the rails.
Dually. Tires are mixed and older with some cracking, but have decent to good tread.  I can send you home with a pair of good used tires as spares if you want them.
I've owned this since July 2001.  Bought from my dad who had it for several years. Have no idea of it's history before then.
Frame is strong with beefed up suspension, and mostly rust free.  Some rust starting in the lower doors and rocker panels.
Dump was an add-on before I got it.  A Marion Metal Products dump.  It's chain driven with a hydraulic pump, and operates from inside the cab.  Works well.   Fluid holds and stays full unless you leave the bed up for extended periods.
    Good points:
New Starter, Accelerator Pump, Fuel Pump on 9-20-20.
    Replaced fairly recently:
Bench Seat, New Pressure Treated lumber over dump bed, New Windshield with gasket, Washer Fluid Tank and pump, Turn signal Switch, Points, Condenser, and cap.  Electric Trailer Brake Assist.
Steel dump bed is in pretty good condition.  It has some dents and some surface rust from sitting, but no holes.  As mentioned, the wood over the bed is in "like new" condition.
    Clutch feels strong.
    Installed a Manual Choke.
    Replaced cracked exhaust manifolds.
I used this truck a little for a few years when I had a Bobcat.  Since I sold the Bobcat, it's been used and run very little.  So for the last decade or longer, it's mostly been parked.
    Not as good of points:
The seat is in great shape, BUT there are no seat belts installed.  I'm old enough to not care, but you may want to install some if you're concerned.  (I can't remember when seat belts were required, so I don't know if this could be grandfathered)
Starts and runs strong, but the carburetor needs adjusting or repair.  It doesn't always idle down all the way, and needs to be kicked down sometimes.
Drivers door was changed at some point with a 1977, so the door tag doesn't match.
Passenger door won't unlock from outside with a key.
Passenger side floor was getting soft.  I reinforced it with metal sheeting under the carpet a while ago, so it should be good.
Horn section of steering wheel is glued on.
Brakes are good, but may need to be bled.  I could help do that before you leave if you want.
Exhaust leak at the back end of one manifold, and a small hole at a weld in the pipe, so it's a little noisy
I think it just needs a new donut at the manifold, and some patchwork on the pipe.
Paint is in fair to decent shape. It's been painted probably more than once. It's oxidized, but can be buffed out to a better shine than pictured if you want to do the work.
Cheap radio works, but the Antennae is busted, so weak stations are iffy.  Don't know if the tape player works.
3 Gauge panel was added before I got it.  Not sure what works since some idiot lights and dash gauges still do.
Window cranks work, but are stiff and could use some lube from the inside.
Fuel gauge works, BUT I was told that when it hits 1/4 tank on the gauge, it's empty.  I never ran it low enough to find out if that's correct.  If you want to try, I'd bring along a gas can the first time just in case.
If I remember, I think there may be some fluctuation in the speedometer.  If so, it might either need to be lubed, or a new cable.
I have no idea of the actual miles on the truck.  The odometer read 52283 when titled in 2001, and reads 54127 now.
    Caveats:
This has always been a good, strong, around town hauler.  A couple times I used it to haul as much as 5 ton of gravel while towing a heavy tilt trailer with the Bobcat on it.   Very few miles by me on the highway, and I'm not sure if you'd want to try to run it with a full load at 70 mph on long trips.  Once you get used to it, you can always try, I just never had a reason to.
It's a 1973 work truck and drives like a 1973 work truck.  So if you're only used to driving a 2020 sports car there may be an exhilarating  learning curve in your future.
One side of this truck has reverse threads on the lug nuts.  (Handy for younger folks to know, so removing a tire isn't more frustrating than having Alexa not understand your cooking question:)
I haven't driven this truck more than a few miles in years, so there are possibly some minor problems I either forgot, or that have cropped up since it's been sitting.  Ask questions if you need an answer, and I'll get it as soon as I can.
This is being sold AS IS, with no warranty.
    GENERAL QUESTIONS:
Please contact me with at least your first name so I know who I'm talking to, with any  questions through ebay email.  I will reply as soon as possible to email, and will try to return requests for call backs, but they may not all get answered due to time constraints.
Do not put any personal information other than your first name in your email for general questions, as I plan on answering as many as possible by posting your question along with the answer on this auction so others can read it.  Hopefully you'll find an answer to any questions you may have that way and save everyone time.
    Details:

I would much prefer that you see this truck to appreciate it and know what you're getting before buying.

Any scheduled appointment may be combined with more than one possible buyer for time and convenience.
    P
lease email me through ebay with your contact information and I'll exchange information with you if you want to see it.
    BIDS:
I will likely cancel any bid from a potential buyer with low, or no, feedback
unless you contact me prior to bidding
    .
This auction is set to end before "Happy hour" gets into full swing on purpose, so please think it through carefully before drinking while bidding:-)
Failure to contact me first will also result in being blocked from future bidding or buying.
This Dumptruck is for sale with no reserve, so every bid is a commitment to buy.
Please no offers or trades. Emails with
    offers won't be responded to
    .
This truck is being sold as-is with no warranty.  I've tried to either describe or offer photo's of known flaws.   It's possible that I've missed mentioning a flaw or more, but if so, it should be either cosmetic or fairly minor in nature.
The only reason for selling is that it's no longer getting used.  It spends too much time sitting when it could be put back into service by someone.
I reserve the right to discontinue this auction at any time, since this truck is also for sale locally.
    PAYMENT.
I'll accept a wire transfer, cashiers check, a personal check.  Or if you pay by cash I'll  only accept it
    at my bank
, during normal business hours.  It's nearby and we can get any notary work done while there.
No transfer of any kind will be made until any check has had adequate time to clear my bank.
A 0.00 non-refundable deposit through Paypal, or Ebay   Or cash on the spot, is required within 24 hours of winning bid.  Full payment due within 3 business days.
If you're only comfortable using the
    Escrow service
offered through ebay, I'd be willing to discuss it.  HOWEVER, there is an approximate charge of 0.00 that I'm not willing to pay.  If you're willing to pay that fee for peace of mind, please email me so we can try to work out the details.
(If you choose to have this truck delivered, please check with the company offering the service with any delivery questions.  I know nothing about it, so I can't necessarily endorse it.  I believe it's an add-on service that ebay automatically provides)
    Thank you,
    Joel
